Do you or anyone you know need support?
I moved here on the 23rd of February 2025 I felt nervous because it was a new house and new layout. I thought to myself am I going to have support or how my health and my state of mind but soon as I got to know the staff and management, I felt comfortable for them to know more about me and listening to the management of the support they are going to provide.
On this day I moved to 42 Lakeside Avenue Southeast London and met the mangers ADE and Sally. As time went on there was ups and downs, but I managed to keep my self calm. They help me in multiple of ways such as:
• Keep on track with my health conditions
• Making sure I eat when need to
• Help with paying bills
• Supporting me to attend medical
appointments
• Help me with emotions and how to tackle
them head on.
Whilst being with the service I have obtained many opportunities like volunteering and finishing college. Also I have never been part of a family at Tuscawilla and the way they do things in their own pace and have a eye for the
service to be successful in order to run a service more efficiently.
At Tuscawilla they have a heart that they can change a individual that has come to the service with no support to extreme support that they never experienced. Working with the amazing staff is a blessing because the staff comes from every walk of life and their accomplishments and how I learn from them and admire the job they do. I have found the staff very proactive with all sorts of service users and how they adapted to playing a vital role for all service users.
My name is Marc, and I live at 20 Goldfinch with three housemates. I moved in last October after my mum passed away. It was a very challenging time for me, and I was unsure about how I would manage and adjust to living more independently. Looking back, moving into Tuscawilla has been one of the most positive changes in my life. Since living here, I have grown in confidence and become much more independent. The staff have provided me with encouragement and support to develop important everyday living skills, including:
• Preparing simple meals safely and independently.
• Managing my laundry and keeping on top of my personal responsibilities.
• Staying organised and maintaining a daily routine.
• Accessing and taking part in activities and hobbies that I enjoy, especially football.
• Attending Charlton football matches and other community activities.
Living at Tuscawilla has had a huge positive impact on my life. After losing my mum, I felt worried about the future and whether I would be able to cope on my own. Since moving here, I have found a caring and supportive environment where I feel respected, safe, and encouraged to achieve my goals. The support I receive has helped me build my independence, develop new skills, and become more confident in myself and my abilities. I am proud of the progress I have made and grateful for the opportunities and support that have helped me move forward.
